Well-made and properly thought-out

gutter systems manage rainwater

And take it away from your house, avoiding watermarks on the walls or water entering the building.

Seamless gutter fabrication done by CC Patrick Stevens Exteriors

Common guttering problems come about due to a lack of maintenance and cleaning, or due to incorrect installation, with poorly made joints, inclinations too steep causing overflow or too shallow causing rapid sediment build-up or poorly supported sections around corners. Most people are not aware of a problem with their guttering until they find water inside the house or notice unsightly staining on the exterior wall. Have you seen a gutter installation that failed immediately, with leaks or tell-tale water stains on the house wall as soon as it rained, or overflowing gutters? Or have you seen a gutter installation that fell apart within a year as the parts were strained or were not properly connected? We've seen and fixed all of these problems over the years, but the truth is that gutters simply need to be installed properly in the first instance.

We work on all aspects of exterior renovation so we'll help you to understand how your gutter relates to your fascia, soffit, roof and wall. A problem with the gutter might be an indication of another problem. For example, if the gutter is filling with sediment and overflowing, it might relate to the gutter inclination, but it could also be the case that your roof tiles or membrane are falling apart and causing sediment build up in the gutter. If the gutter needs changing, it's a good time to assess the soundness of the fascia and soffit also, to change them all at one time, enjoying the integrated design and cost-saving, rather than changing the gutter now, only to then change the fascia in 5 years’ time, at which point you'd have to remove the gutter to do so!

There are specific regulations about the inclination of gutters and how they should be arranged, and gutter manufacturers provide clear information about how to assemble their systems correctly. Despite our years of experience installing gutter systems we still follow these manufacturers' details and regulations very carefully EVERY TIME in the design and implementation of your new gutter system.

We install seamless eavestroughs to further reduce the risk of leaks or failures. These can be made of aluminum, copper, or galvanized steel, and require specific heavy equipment to shape them onsite. It's not technically possible to remove all seams, but they are massively reduced through this process, and therefore we consider your gutter to be a gutter for life. By that, we mean that it should never need to be changed or even repaired. The rigidity of the materials used in this process further reduces any risk of guttering sagging, inconsistence inclination, or material warping due to installation fixings, maintenance activities, or accidents, for example, whilst removing nearby branches from trees, or during roof work. Like many quality-focused products, seamless eavestroughs become cost-effective compared to a lower-end product over only a few years. The collector trough should be cleared of debris every so often as with any gutter.

Proper installation of eavestroughs are important in the function of a home

Our gutter installation is carried out, like all our work, using safe working methods onsite to avoid the types of common site accidents that damage property or endanger our installers and your family. We never cease to be amazed at the dangerous scaffold and ladder use that we see around town every day.
